Elements Yoga, based in the Treasure Valley of Idaho, is inspired by the five elements—earth, air, water, fire, and space—with each class intentionally structured around their unique qualities. Grounding strength, expansive breath, fluid movement, transformative heat, and restorative stillness come together to create a balanced, elemental approach to practice.

Our Services
(Air and Space classes coming soon to the Elements Yoga lineup.)

1

EARTH

Earth classes focus on foundational yoga postures with an emphasis on proper alignment for each individual body. Thoughtful use of props supports stability, accessibility, and a deeper understanding of each pose.

2

FIRE

Fire classes focus on targeted conditioning toward a specific peak pose. Sessions may include strength training for the shoulders, core, legs, and hips, and often explore arm balances, headstands, and forearm stands. These classes are meant to build heat.

3

WATER

Water classes feature longer-held postures that gently target the connective tissues and ligaments, in the style of yin yoga. Props and gravity are used to support the body, allowing for deeper release and stillness.

Heat With Control

Have you ever wondered how to safely get into an inversion or arm balance? The Heat Class is designed for you. We combine conditioning work that gets your heart rate up with strength, flexibility, and alignment training, helping you confidently explore headstands, forearm stands, and a variety of arm balances—making it a challenging and energizing workout.

WATER

Slow, Steady, Fluid.

Water Class flows with the calm, restorative energy of yin yoga. Postures are held for 2–4 minutes, allowing gravity and gentle support to create space and fluidity in the joints and connective tissues. This slow, mindful practice helps release tension, improve mobility, and cultivate a sense of ease and flow throughout the body.

About Elements Yoga

My name is Amanda Ruffner and I created Elements Yoga from my  love of yoga and the understanding that becoming your best self requires many elements. This offering weaves strength, flexibility, and mindful movement with the physical and spiritual qualities of air, water, fire, earth, and space—using poses and chakra themes to create a balanced, whole-body practice.

I am a RYT-200 certified yoga instructor with extensive training across multiple styles, including Hot Power Yoga with an Ashtanga foundation, Rocket Yoga (based on the Ashtanga Primary Series), Hot Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, and Myofascial Release. My education includes 200-hours of teacher training with Carmen Aguilar (cyogalife), and continued anatomy study with Jason Crandall. This diverse background allows me to blend strength, mobility, functional anatomy, and mindful stillness into a well-rounded, intelligent practice.

I have a deep passion for yoga because I know firsthand that these poses do not come easily for most people. Through my own experience and ongoing study, I’ve learned how to thoughtfully integrate the techniques needed to access more advanced postures while honoring individual physical limitations. My approach emphasizes safety, awareness, and intelligent progression, helping students build strength, mobility, and confidence in a way that feels both attainable and empowering.
